What made you decide to pursue your degree in WDOC?

As a GIS Analyst, I am always looking for ways to offer new services to my clients, and being able to represent my GIS products as websites and eventually apps is a huge way to set myself apart from other GIS professionals.

What has been the biggest thing you have learned in your classes?

I have already realized how quickly web design standards change, and that these skills will need to be cultivated continually throughout my career to stay competitive and up to date.

What have you learned in your classes that you have already applied to your job?

I have already helped clients to edit their existing websites as an added service to existing contracts.

What are your career aspirations?

I plan on continuing my career as a GIS analyst and finding ways to offer my skills as a web designer to complement my GIS products.

What accomplishment are you the proudest of achieving?

Being able to work full time and complete this program at the same time is a lot of work sometimes, but being able to immediately apply the things I’m learning is worth it. Working hard enough to do both is something I’m very proud of.
