What made you decide to pursue your degree in WDOC?

I believe that online communications are the future. As a communications professional, I wanted to stay on the cutting-edge of industry best practices. This program allows me to work full-time, and get an incredible education from the University of Florida. Attaining my Masters will open up so many opportunities for me.

What has been the biggest thing you have learned in your classes?

The most beneficial part of this program, so far, was learning the ins and outs of InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Being comfortable in Adobe CC was what landed me a job as a graphic designer at a Fortune 200 company. I came into this program as a true design beginner, and am now a working professional in the industry.

What have you learned in your classes that you have already applied to your job?

I had never worked in Illustrator or Photoshop before I started this program. Now, I use both on a daily basis! I wouldn’t have the position I am in today without this program.

What are your career aspirations?

My short-term goal is to transition from a purely graphic design position into a more front-end web developer role. Eventually, I would love to manage a team of creative communications professionals.

What accomplishment are you the proudest of achieving?

I am proud to have a full-time position in Corporate Communications, and also be a graduate student at the University of Florida. Being accepted into this program was a huge accomplishment.
