What made you decide to pursue your degree in WDOC?

I initially wanted to be a creative in an advertising agency. This is why I started the WDOC program. I have taken all 4 courses – Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Web Design. Although I am not going to continue in the master’s program, I have learned so much over the course of my college career. If I ever do decide to go into the creative side of advertising, I can now use the skills I learned over the course of this program.

What has been the biggest thing you have learned in your classes?

The biggest thing I’ve learned in my classes is how much patience and determination is required to learn these programs. I have a newfound respect for designers of all types, because there is just an endless amount of information to learn. Each semester, I start off knowing basically nothing in each program, and by the end I’m pretty proficient. It’s a really exciting process.

What are your career aspirations?

I want to work in advertising or marketing. I am really interested in strategy and research, so I hope to combine my creativity and business backgrounds to make myself a stronger candidate for both fields.

What accomplishment are you the proudest of achieving?

My biggest accomplishment is coding my own fully-functioning website!
