What made you decide to pursue your degree in WDOC?

I have been interested in web design and Adobe programs for as long as I can remember. When I made the decision to change careers, I reflected on my general interests and naturally gravitated to web design. The WDOC program offered the best of both web design and digital imagery, and became the obvious choice.

What has been the biggest thing you have learned in your classes?

The biggest takeaway from the program has been to trust my instinct — it’s what makes me unique.

What have you learned in your classes that you have already applied to your job?

The Research class put me above a lot of typical designers because I had a foundational knowledge of analytics, Google Adwords, etc. Every company wants more exposure, so pay attention in that class, future students!

What are your career aspirations?

My dream position would be to become the webmaster for a company, where I can spend time building the brand and seeing it blossom to its fullest potential. I love everything about web design, including the sometimes dreaded “behind the scenes” work, because it often has the biggest impact for a brand.

What accomplishment are you the proudest of achieving?

I’m proud of completing this program full-time, with a full-time job all the way through. There were definitely days I thought I might give up (*ahem* that first semester with four classes), but I managed to do it with straight As. Additionally, I’ve never been comfortable presenting my ideas, but presentations have become one of my strongest skills.
