Create a simple HTML site CSS for a fictitious small business.
One of the required header options was the rhino image. I used that image to create my color scheme and site theme. The existing Santa Fe Teaching Zoo site is heavily connected to Santa Fe College, so I was interested in building something a little more family-friendly.
This project is geared towards families and local community members who are interesting in learning more about and visiting the zoo.
I used HTML5 and CSS3 to code the website. I also used jQuery for scrolling and the photo gallery.
For earlier projects we were instructed to code a template site with placeholder text and photos. Eventually we added real content to fill the site, including text and images, a form and jQuery components. I enjoyed building upon the site through each homework assignment.
Favorite Aspect of Project
Incorporating the jQuery made the site a lot more fun to interact with.
What did you learn while completing this Project?
Because this homework built upon others before it, I realized how easy it can be to create an effective webpage if you just take the coding step-by-step. Eventually it will come together!
