Brand Identity

Requirements/Project’s Goals

The goal of the project was to create a full visual identity and style guide for a client – a tech startup.

Inspirations

After deciding on a name for my fictitious client, “snapplabs,” I decided to lean on the science lab theme. I used a bright green that evokes chemicals as the main color, a beaker as the focal point of my logo and a futuristic-looking font for the logotype.

Targeted Audience

A potential client (tech startup) in need of a corporate identity, and ultimately, investors.

Programs used

Adobe Illustrator

Design/Coding Stages/Steps

Coming up with a name was the most important part, so I put some thought into that. After choosing a company name, everything fell into place: the theme, the color scheme, the typography, etc.

Favorite Aspect of Project

Designing the logo was my favorite part. I got to combine my newfound Illustrator skills and creative freedom to make something original and eye catching.

What did you learn while completing this Project?

The theory behind the digital elements of a brand identity. I learned that whatever I create in Illustrator needs to go beyond shapes and colors, and follow certain guidelines and rules of composition, hierarchy and alignment to create a memorable branding identity.
